First look at the ILC’s draft principles on the protection of the environment in relation to armed conflicts in full.
The International Law Commission has provisionally adopted 28 draft principles intended to enhance protection for the environment in relation to armed conflicts. This document is the first to present all 28 principles in one place, which have been under development since 2013. This version of the draft principles has been provisionally adopted by the Commission after a first reading of the principles as a whole but will be subject to modifications by states prior to its second reading.
