Help us explore the environmental data needs for sustainable recovery in Ukraine.

Ukrainian civil society organisations have defined sustainable recovery as: ‘…the process of restoring infrastructure, housing, the economy and ecosystems in an inclusive way that ensures long-term environmental safety, efficient use of natural resources and environmental restoration, while taking into account climate change and minimising negative impacts on ecosystems.’ Environmental data is foundational for sustainable recovery and CEOBS has been examining Ukraine’s current and future environmental data needs, and the sustainable recovery stakeholders that will depend on it. The project is supported by the OSCE extra-budgetary project “Assessment of the Environmental Impacts of the War Against Ukraine and Options for Remediation.”
We are now hosting an online consultation for stakeholders interested or engaged in sustainable recovery in Ukraine to share our findings and capture the views of participants on environmental data needs and data gaps. The consultation will bring together government representatives, international organisations, technical experts and civil society stakeholders to review the current landscape of environmental data, identify gaps, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
