Webinar on water quality in Ukraine to mark #EnvConflictDay

This webinar will explore how the war is influencing water quality in Ukraine and how water needs and threats may change over time, both in respect to Ukraine’s recovery but also as a result of climate change and future regulatory alignment with the EU.
This webinar is a standalone event as well as an introductory lecture for the DigiEduHack hackathon, which CEOBS is organising on 13-14th November 2024.
The webinar is designed for students, individuals from the academic and scientific communities, as well as policymakers and representatives from NGOs. It coincides with #EnvConflictDay, the UN’s International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment Through War and Armed Conflict.
Speakers: Iryna Babanina, Jay Lindle and Dr Anna McKean, CEOBS.
Registration is open via the button below.
Part of DigiEduHack and the GROMADA project
This lecture is open to the public but is also intended to help prepare participants in CEOBS’ water quality challenge as part of DigiEduHack 2024. The webinar is also part of the EU-funded GROMADA project (European universities supporting legal and community capacities for Ukraine’s environmental recovery).

Expectations and requirements

Considerations should include the safety and security of participants and potential sensitivities around the collection, storage and use of environmental data. The event will be undertaken in English and participants must have the language skills to allow this.
